Due to really crappy connectivity my last post wasn't complete, so I’m playing catch up.
As I was saying, I didn’t think we’d be back in Lund so soon…if ever, but things change.
First, more photos from Oyster Cove:
Here’s one that shows some of the scale of the surrounding hills/mountains:
Here are some photos of Refuge Cove:
Neptune in Lund harbour:
Evening sky out of Lund:
As we approached Secret Cove, on the Sechelt Peninsula, we spotted this awesome tent cabin resort – would be fun to have family stay there!
So many sea stars in Secret Cove – all purple:
Kayaking in Secret Cove:
Secret Cove is a nice destination and worth returning to. The Secret Cove Marina is under new ownership and they are doing a nice job. They were scaled back for the season but the store and restaurant seem good.
Yesterday we pulled into the Vancouver area – what a difference a day makes!
We’ve never spent any time in Vancouver B.C. Driven through a couple of times, and we looked at a boat last year, but other than that it’s just one of those places we’ve always talked about visiting and just never did.
We are staying at the False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf marina. It’s definitely a working wharf, with all kinds of fishing boats and fish sales.
They are pretty full and we took the slip they assigned – very tight!
We walked around the Granville Island Public Market (wow!) yesterday and then had dinner on the boat. Nick took a few photos of the city at night:
This morning we went to Steveston Marine & Hardware to buy a few things: a handheld VHF radio, a new bow line, a spiral hose for the cockpit, and a throw for the dinghy. Then we back to the market to buy a few groceries.
This afternoon the four of us took our bikes along the waterfront to Stanley Park – very nice, mostly flat. Although a little hectic coming back through downtown. A few sights:
Dinner out tonight…
