Florida Boating Adventure

Needless to say, ToG did not spend NYE in Friday Harbor due to a combination of weather and just too much going on. Nick’s sister Kit is comfortably ensconced in her apartment, however, and we’ll get up to check that out at some point.

I’ve started to experiment with drawing using Sketchable on my laptop. This is a hooded merganser as seen from our (almost) daily walk around the yacht basin.

This post in mostly about our upcoming trip to Florida. We received some itinerary details from Nick’s cousin Drake. We’re getting very excited about this adventure with

Drake and his wife Beth, aboard Moor Life (their Jeanneau NC 1095). They will motor south from their home in New Smyrna Beach to Key West to meet up with us, and then the four of us will head back north. Some potential destinations include Marathon, Key Largo, Miami, West Palm Beach, Vero Beach, and Titusville. We look forward to learning more about these places through Waterway Guide.

To begin the journey, Nick and I fly into Fort Myers and then head out the next morning on the Key West Express, a high-speed catamaran. Can’t wait! It will be interesting and fun to experience life on the water in a completely different environment than we’re used to. I hope to post frequently. This trip will take at least 10 days, plus we’ll spend a bit of time in New Smyrna Beach.
