Uni anyone? We thought the boats at Jerisich Public Dock in Gig Harbor were harvesting geoducks...but no...sea urchins! One of the crew cracked one open for Nick. He said it tasted a different from when he's eaten it at sushi bars. Milder, more like the sea.

We took advantage of a break in our schedules and some clear, although cold, weather to scoot over to Gig Harbor for two nights. Plenty of room at the public dock. Cold enough to have electric heaters going most of the time, but clear enough in the afternoon for the sun to make it feel like a couple of spring days.

We cruised the dinghy by the new 7 Seas building - shown on the shore in the background. Lots of dock space for customers all around the perimeter (clearly marked in blue), with no min. or max. vessel size that we could see.

Later, we walked back for a beverage and I got another shot of the dock space. Boats on the interior are privately moored.

After we returned in the dinghy, Nick winterized it, we put the cover on, and it's nicely tucked in for the winter.

One of my latest projects is this cover for our shore power cord. I am tired of cleaning orange marks off of the boat. Steve S. gave me some Sunbrella fabric, perfect for this project. I left the "dock side" ten feet bare so the orange still shows when it's laying on the dock. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I took the opportunity while at the Jerisich dock to lay the whole thing out to get it installed.

We had a nice two nights, took a few walks, lunched at the Tides, met some people aboard a Classic 29 Ranger Tug (Skookum), and are home in time to trick or treat with these two! Malcolm the Wizard and King Ren Richard:
