Guests & Power Usage

We took a kayak paddle Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, Nick’s paddle disappeared over night. The wind kicked up at some point and it must have come loose and floated away. We’ll keep an eye out but probably won’t find it.

Yesterday, we loaded the bikes on the dinghy and took a ride up to Target for some shopping. Spent some time on the Cushman Trail on the way back, then ate lunch at Kettle Fish.

The farmer’s market was underway at Jerisich Park when we returned. I was pleased to see a massage therapist in her booth and immediately signed up for a chair massage to try and ease a neck injury from last week.

Our son Caleb and his two boys joined us for dinner. Grandpa took the dinghy to pick them up at Gig Harbor’s Maritime Pier.

We had not planned for this meal so made do with boxed mac & cheese, hot dogs, and green beans. Dinner of young champions.

Much fun was had by all!

We woke to rain this morning. This day will be a good opportunity to monitor our power usage when anchored and the sun is not shining on the solar panel. (A reminder, this boat did not come with a generator…and we really don’t want one.) We’re using the propane stove for hot water and cooking, rather than turning on the inverter and using our preferred electric kettle and hot plate. We’ll minimize power usage and continue to monitor.

Hopefully it won’t rain all day, allowing us to get out for a walk.

Hi all! I finally decided to change platforms for my website and blog. The new site is under construction so apologies for any weirdness...
