Oh. My. Legs.

We got a late start on Friday (the 25th, my mom and dad's 73rd wedding anniversary!) and arrived in Gig Harbor around 5pm. We anchored; Lady KD and crew (including cats Phoebe and Henry) were at the Jerisich dock.
Yesterday, Steve and Tracey brought Lady KD out to raft with ToG. The weather is great! (Actually very hot.)
I've been wanting to try one of these stand up pedal boards for a while and finally got the chance while here in Gig Harbor. I rented one from the Gig Harbor Fly Shop. I have seen these a few times and wondered about the stability offered by the handlebar. Nick, Tracey, and Steve each gave it a try.

I won't be rushing out to purchase one any time soon. Within minutes of getting on the water, my calves were on fire! I got used to it after a while but I can tell you I just don't have the leg power to use one of these on a regular basis. I was very pleased with the stability and ease of stepping on and off from a dock or the boat's swim step.
I forgot to include this last photo of our pink salmon processing efforts. We've been eating some and are pleased with the results. Maybe not Nick's most flavorful batch, but definitely not too salty. This morning we had some of the belly strips along with cream cheese on bagels purchased from Gig Harbor's new bagel shop, B's Bagels & Butters.

Before we left home on Friday, I saw another gull preparing to eat a sea star.

ToG and Lady KD will part company later this morning. We plan to anchor in Eagle Harbor tonight.
