ToG arrived in La Conner yesterday to find the entire marina reserved for yacht clubs. So, we used our secret weapon - the American Tug dock. Fortunately, there was room so we were able to spend the night and get out early this morning.
I am experimenting with ways to post our routes. The screen grab below shows our trip today from La Conner to Sucia Island. Not the level of detail I'm looking for, and no mileage, so I'll keep working on it.

Although we didn't see brown pelicans, we did see white ones this morning in Padilla Bay, where we always see them (in season) when we transit the northern end of Swinomish Channel. Just not close enough to get any good photos.
Very often, as we travel from south (Puget Sound) to north (San Juan Islands), we see a clear demarcation of better weather. Today is no different. We know we're heading toward blue sky:

Getting closer!

Nice to see the Schooner Zodiac, based in Bellingham, today under full sail:

If all goes according to plan, we'll grab a mooring ball or drop our anchor in Shallow Bay on Sucia Island for a few days.
Thanks to Steve Z. for forwarding a link to a piece about American Tug Ancient Mariners. Combined age now 201! Still can't believe they got a bigger boat! Read about them here.
