This morning we watched this boat and crew doing a bio-survey...more about that in a minute.

After three days and nights of almost continuous rocking, the boat bumping against the buoy, and the kayaks bumping against the boat, we were more than ready to leave Sucia.
While we were there we saw our old boat, which was named Pelican when we owned her. This is our second sighting of Tugbert:

There were plenty of mooring buoys available in Prevost Harbor, Stuart Island. Calm as can be!
From the island, looking on to the Prevost State Park dock, with ToG to the right.

We dinghied to the Prevost pier then hiked out to Turn Point Light Station yesterday afternoon. The old car is still there:

The day was gorgeous and we were at the light station just in time for the 1:00pm tour of the keepers' house.
This morning I saw this boat come in the harbor, pull up to a mooring ball, and dispatch a diver. At first I thought they were doing routine safety checks but as they came closer, we heard them telling boat owners they were doing surveys as part of the long process for the State of Washington to replace all blocks with auger-type bases for park buoys. Soon enough it was our turn.

They spent about 10 minutes at each buoy and then went on their merry way.
We took a paddle and will hike again after lunch. The weather is perfect!!!
