Due to connectivity issues, a new blog platform, fun in Seattle, and a day with grandsons Mac & Ren, I am just getting around to catching up on the last few days of our 32-day trip!

We had some rain in Eagle Harbor on the 3rd, so hunkered down to wait it out.

When we began our search for Nick’s kayak, we stopped by a sailboat anchored near us to ask the couple if they had seen anything. (This was the guy sailing the small remote boat.) They hadn’t. The next day they swung by our boat and said they had spotted an orange kayak on the lawn of a nearby house. We immediately got in the dinghy to check it out. Eureka! Someone had pulled the kayak off the beach and up on to the lawn above their bulkhead. We had gone by that house before, but not close enough to notice the kayak. Anyway, Nick retrieved it and all is well.

ToG set off Friday morning for the relatively short haul across to Elliot Bay and Bell Harbor Marina. It was windy and quite choppy. We headed straight for the pump out dock…and ended up hanging out there for 40 minutes or so because there was a boat in our assigned slip.

This is maybe our 4th time at this marina. Each time we’ve been here, it seems we’ve been shuffled around. This time was no different. They reassigned us at least 3 times. Some of this may have happened because they were trying to honor our request to dock next to Steve & Tracey. But honestly, it’s irritating. Although checkout is 11am, the sailboat in our assigned slip was waiting for someone to fly in from out of town…and the flight was delayed. They finally left at noon and we were able to move in to our spot. We went for a walk and when we came back, another boat was in the slip assigned to Lady KD. It was windy and those people didn’t want to move, so when Steve & Tracey arrived, they were assigned a slip at the other end of our dock. Oh well.

Tracey served frozen rum punch! Then she served us delicious mac & cheese!

On Saturday as we prepared to walk to Elysian Fields for lunch before the game, Phoebe went missing. As a reminder, Phoebe and Henry are Steve and Tracey’s two cats, often joining them on Lady KD. Just about everyone at the marina joined in to hunt for Phoebs. After about an hour, Nick and I took off for lunch and the game. Not long after ordering our beers, Tracey texted that Phoebe was found! She had actually never left the boat – she’d crawled through a head cupboard and down into some bilge area. We think, at least. They caught up with us and we had a great time, enjoying an awesome 2 to 1 win against the Angels!

After the game we enjoyed some delicious grilled poppers. The weather was absolutely perfect. We sat up on the aft Lady KD deck , listening to the second game, enjoying good wine and company as the sun faded and the beautiful city lights illuminated the waterfront.

ToG made her way home on Sunday. We took the wee lads out to the McQuarrie cabin on Tuesday to dig clams. They change so much when we haven’t seen them for a month!

We have plans to spend a day on the Columbia River aboard Ramble On - can't wait!

We're meeting Lady KD in Poulsbo on the 26th for the Liberty Bay Festival and Poulsbo Boat Rendesvous.

Anyone know if West Marine still carries this product? Can’t seem to find it.
