Vancouver to Pender Harbour

We've had no internet for a few days so I am taking this opportunity to catch up. This is part one.
Our last night in Vancouver was pretty quiet, given it was Canada's May Long Weekend. A couple of party boats were in the harbor, and of course, the pirate boat.

ToG left Vancouver on Sunday for a long-ish day of boating further north to Pender Harbour. We rocked and rolled quite a bit…not my favorite boating.
I got this shot of GHOST, also on it's way to Pender. Greg and Cathy's boat card reads:
ghost
(verb)
to glide smoothly and effortlessly, esp. unnoticed

We took the last open space at the Madeira Park Public Wharf. I’d forgotten how wonderful this harbor is. Not just one harbor really, but a convoluted collection of copious connected coves.
We walked around a little, reacquainting ourselves with the shopping center and the small “mall” up the road with several nice restaurants/shops:

The weather cooled. Off with the shorts and on with the flannel and fleece.
While dinghying around, we found this trail head and returned the next day to check it out. It's Garden Bay Provincial Park and is just a short 1/2 mile loop.

ToG's tender at the Garden Bay dinghy dock:

The trail connects to the road and we walked a short way to John Henry's Marina & Resort. The restaurant is closed due to poor health of the owner but the cafe is open and the small store is one of the most delightfully appointed little marina shops we've ever seen.

Another restaurant close to John Henry's:

We stayed at Madeira Wharf for three nights...because we could. We had a great view from the end of the dock, with plenty of seal and eagle activity.
